TAP FEES INCREASE – CHANGES TO CASH-IN-LIEU OF WATER RIGHTS – EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2017

Written by ltwdadmin on May 18, 2017

The Little Thompson Water District Board has authorized the District Manager to periodically review and make changes to the Cash-in-Lieu of water rights.

The cost of water rights in Northern Colorado continues to rise.  In response to the rising costs of Colorado Big Thompson (CBT), Home Supply, and other approved water resources, the District has reviewed the cost of water that we are purchasing as well as the current market and have determined that we need to increase the Cash-in-Lieu charges for new taps.

Based on our current water rights purchase price history and current market of water rights, we are setting our Cash-in-Lieu of water rights charge at $55,000 per acre-foot.

The tap fee changes are as follows:

Fees:Standard 5/8”Urban 5/8”
Plant Investment$11,000$  7,000
Cash-in-Lieu$38,500$19,250
Install$  1,500$  1,500
                                    Total$51,000$27,750
